We are Afaayo, the foundation that supports volunteers in Africa.

Through our people we help poor and underprivileged African children, and their families. Every day, too many children and adults in developing countries suffer from illnesses and conditions that can be easily prevented or treated.

Our focus is on the health and wellbeing of the most vulnerable groups in society. Therefore we support volunteers who want to use their skills and experience in medicare to work in Africa. This way, Afaayo directly helps children and mothers in need. Volunteers can have a short term assignment of several months and focus on one project, or be active in the field permanently.

The word ‘afaayo’ comes from the Luganda language and means ‘God cares’. We are united in the belief that the Bible is the Word of God, which has enduring relevance in today’s world. By God’s grace we are able to look after those whom He has entrusted to our care.
